i had a dream i got a half-sleeve (from my wrist to my elbow) done. i don't remember the theme, but i remember it didn't hurt and mom didn't freak out because apparently, she had tattoos too (she had kept her full sleeve hidden for 19 years, haha) . i remember really liking it, but regretting it at the same time because it was so prominent. i actually was slightly disappointed when i awoke. but goddamnit, i'm going to be a business woman. i'm going to drive a dodge stratus. i can't have tattoos.
so i don't think i'm going to get inked any time soon.
and i think i'm going to continue to post random and fleeting thought in this thing.

i saw clutch last night. i didn't buy a ticket or anything and they put on a great show. but my god, it was like the world's largest gathering of chud babies.

so last night i had a few people over and decided to entertain my guests with a fire in my fireplace. before i went to bed, i wanted to shut the flue, so as not to add to my gas bill by losing tons of heat. so i poured water over the crackle log, thinking i had entirely extinguished it. i then fell asleep at about 2am. at 4am, i awoke and smelled something absolutely putrid. my heart drops, i race downstairs and see my living room FILLED with smoke. so i grab the log, throw it outside (spilling ash all over my carpeting along the way.) i then spent the next two hours trying to air my house out (with the heat off in the winter time) and scrubbing the walls. around 6:30am, i finally wound down and fell asleep. i woke up at 10am and the apartment still smelled like shit. so i called my mom and she brought over pinesol and her steam vac and we spent the next four hours washing curtains, cleaning the carpeting, and scrubbing the walls.
it still smells rather awful in here. but hey, at least i'm still alive. i'm honestly surprised i didn't get sick from sleeping through all that smoke inhalation. AND WHAT THE FUCK? why didn't my smoke alarms go off? i tested the batteries and they seem to be doing fine.
but, yeah. that was my night/morning. and then my boss called me three times and left me two voice mails begging me to come into work..but um...fuck that.

i know it might not seem like it now, but i'm really going to miss this city when i leave in a couple years. i'm going to miss high street and my little clintonville neighborhood. i'm going to miss the S curves on 315 and the way the city looks at night when you're driving south on 3rd street and you start to see the buildings. and i think it's entirely normal to not appreciate something until its gone. soon enough i'll be flying "back east" for the holidays. home for the holidays. ohio will always be where my heart is.

someday soon, i'm going to grow a back bone. and i won't be so utterly sensitive so that when a complete stranger berates me and completely disrespects me for something that i have no control over, i am not going to burst into tears or take it personally.
i've spent my entire life being the person who says, "excuse me" when YOU bump into me. i can't do this anymore. it makes me radiate low self-esteem.
